The Combine NYC, Royce Bannon and Endless Love Crew proudly present:
Work to Do! - a new collaborative Concert/Art Show between Afrika Bambaataa and The Soul Sonic Force x The Combine x The Endless Love Crew. The opening of the show is March 26th at 112 Green Street in Soho NYC 6- 10 pm. "Work to Do" is the theme of both ELC's presentation and the Bam/Soul Sonic composition. It is the personification and most importantly, the application of Barack Obama's belief that: "In reaffirming the greatness of our nation, we understand that greatness is never a given. It must be earned. What is required of us now is a new era of responsibility - a recognition, on the part of every American, that we have duties to ourselves, our nation, and the world, duties that we do not grudgingly accept but rather seize gladly, firm in the knowledge that there is nothing so satisfying to the spirit, so defining of our character, than giving our all to a difficult task. It has been the risk-takers, the doers, the makers of things - some celebrated but more often men and women obscure in their labor, who have carried us up." 112 Green Street space was home to the historic Whitewalls gallery and Green Street Studio where Steve Loeb and John Robie (Combine Co-founders) produced music for such groups as Public Enemy, James Brown, Run DMC, Salt n' Pepa, Chaka Khan, Vanessa Williams, A Tribe Called Quest, Ice Cube, Shannon and Third Base. The Endless Love Crew has asked many of NYC's best Street Artists and Graff Writers to decorate the walls of the space for the opening and it's amazing looking. If you're in the area check it out because it's destined to be one of the best shows of the year. Monday, February 02, 2009
Abe here again.
I have been asked by the good folks at Brooklyn Street Art to participate in the upcoming Street Crush show at Alphabeta in Greenpoint Brooklyn. The show has "sexy new work from the Street Artists you have a crush on." The theme of the show is sex sensuality and love. The list of artists is awesome and its good to be showing with my homies from the ELC again. 2x in 2 months is awesome. There will be more info on my future work with the ELC soon... big things... COLOR INK BOOK! Color Ink Book is a DIY Art Periodical by the Brothers Washburn thats not only a who's who of modern underground art but it's also coloring book not quite suitable for the kiddies. I did 3 pages for the Fall 2008 issue. I just got my copy in the mail today and I was blown away by a bunch of the artists who I am lucky enough to share the book with. Artists include:Anthony Ausgang, Bubi Au Yueng, Julie West, Trevor Van Meter, Sara Antionette Martin, Jim Mahfood, Andrew Pommier, Eyeformation and a shit tonne more. So be sure to check out http://www.colorinkbook.com/ for more information. The best part of it is its only 10 bucks and is perfect for the art lover in your life who likes to color in stuff too. ∴
